Introduction

After spending over 7 years as an expat in leadership roles, including managing large teams during crisis situations, I’ve developed this coaching program to address the unique challenges faced by immigrant leaders. My journey taught me that effective leadership abroad begins with learning to self-lead, manage emotions, and resolve personal challenges before you can successfully lead others.

My Journey

Seven years ago, one decision changed my life. Leaving the comfort of knowing, I moved abroad, stepping into the unknown.

What followed immediately was

  • Crushing loneliness.
  • Overwhelming doubt.
  • Fear so paralyzing that

I felt absent in meetings.
I struggled to be understood.
I fought to prove myself.

Identity Crisis

When you live at the intersection of so many identities, what becomes normal is avoiding making any decision altogether, often called decision paralysis.

During my time abroad, I went through many inflection points, some personal, some professional, and some emotional. At one point, I lost all confidence.

The Disconnected Leadership

How could I lead others when so disconnected from myself? Leadership is lonely as you climb up the ladder, and as an expat leader, it becomes lonelier.

I wanted to show up as a strong woman leader. I thought answers lay in knowing all and being all. Anyone who has led teams knows how this approach soon becomes a nightmare.

Turning Point

After making many mistakes, I chose the harder path. I admitted I didn’t know. I started sharing my vulnerable moments gradually. As I did that, new possibilities started to emerge. I didn’t just become swift in adapting, I didn’t just thrive in the unknown, I wasn’t merely being resilient. I was becoming an anti-fragile leader.

What is Anti-Fragility?

Anti-fragility goes beyond resilience. While resilience allows you to bounce back from challenges, anti-fragility enables you to actually become stronger through adversity. As an expat leader, this means using cultural differences and challenges as catalysts for growth rather than obstacles to overcome

Why This Exists

The change that occurs when moving from one country to another is immense and requires the integration of multiple layers of identity, culture, beliefs, and systems. When I first became an immigrant leader, I felt the need for professional support. This program helps you move beyond mere resilience to anti-fragility, where challenges don’t just make you bounce back, but make you stronger.

As Expat Leaders

  • How do we behave when two complex systems merge?
  • How do we make sense of our new reality?
  • How do we find common shared values and purpose within organizations?
  • How do we build support systems from scratch, away from family and friends?
  • How do we transform uncertainty into strength?

3 Critical Needs of Expat Leaders

Support

A thinking partner that understands the unique challenges of leading in a foreign environment.

Understanding

A non-judgmental space to process cultural transitions and leadership expectations.

Acceptance

Navigate vulnerability and gain confidence in your ability to lead.

Belonging & Transformation

I went through many years of understanding, education, and integration to finally build all the capabilities and confidence needed to lead others effectively as an expat. I struggled between my old mindset and my new mindset, feeling a deep need to be accepted and belong. In this program, I have packed all the learnings of many, many years to help you boost your confidence as a leader.

Together we will

  • Surface the hidden challenges of expat leadership.
  • Bring cultural and systemic barriers into awareness.
  • Develop strategies to address these challenges proactively.
  • Prevent these issues from interfering with your ability to lead others effectively.
  • Build anti-fragility to thrive in uncertainty, not just survive it.
